I don't know about Chihuahua, but in Sonora chilaquiles are very basic and not at all like this riecpe. The closest thing to this I've seen is when my grandmother browns the corn tortillas in oil and then mixes them with scrambled eggs. Sometimes she'll add cheese on top (usually queso fresco because that's her favorite). My roommate at university did the same thing, but with garlic and tomato sauce then garnished with chile tepines. Regional variations sometimes REALLY vary! How funny!

I agree with most- this is called migas. It oriilnagly started as a way to use up stale corn tortillas, much like chilaquiles. The spices, however, are definitely NOT normal to migas OR chilaquiles. Mexican cooking, especially for breakfast, is way simple! But that's only the first wonderful thing about Mexican cooking!!!! So much else, so little time
